You have probably noticed that I have not been able to spend any time posting to Crime Online recently, this will change when I get my present project finished.

This morning I received an e-mail from Squidoo recommending a lens of the day. A lens is basically a blog with a whole lot of commerce plugins.

This particular lens was a chronicle about identity theft. The writer, Julie O’Brady, reports on her experiences last year, when her credit card was misused by criminals from Chicago.

Why is this interesting?

Firstly, identity theft can hit anyone, even you. Julie tells you not only how it all happened, but also has put together a list of all the contacts who helped her solve all the problems associated with it.

And secondly, the people behind all this were, you guessed it ….. Nigerians!!

So it fits in with the kind of reports which I post here.

    Hi Mike!

Thanks for incorporating my lens into your blog. I do appreciate it. If I can help but one person out there from being victimized, it will be satisfying.

    Regards,
