This time the crooks have an address in London, Great Britain. The funny thing is if you take a look at the Connecticut Lottery site they make no mention of a London office.

The CT Lottery does have a page informing readers about typical scam messages using Connecticut Lottery as a front.

Who would ever write that as a subject line on an e-mail? African crooks, that’s who.

On this one, they say Microsoft has a ballot system which picks the prize winner from 50.000 e-mail addresses.

I wonder if Microsoft knows about this software?

A short lottery fraud e-mail, but the basics are there.

Here’s another example of using a name with a high trust value for a bogus lottery.

In their quest to find names which can impress people, these crooks have happened upon Mercedes Benz. Of course it’s a name that is well known the world over for quality cars. That’s why they use it here. To give the reader the impression that what they are reading is plausible and true.

They don’t actually call it a lottery in this one, but it’s written like the Yahoo & MSN scam e-mails which have been reported often here. Instead of MSN they name Windows Live as the cooperation partner. Looks as though they are modernizing.

Not much to say about this one. This time they have used a no name lottery company which does not exist.
