John Garang

Image via Wikipedia

The funny thing about this e-mail is the fact, that Joesph claims that his father was a close friend to John Garang (pictured to the right). The refugees from Dafur don’t usually have powerful friends in the government as they are basically in a war zone directed by the Sudan Government against their own citizens of African decent.

So this is basically someone from Ghana trying a fast deal, using Dafur as a front.

This is a typical story about dormant accounts without any heirs to claim it. Karim saysyou can be the one to claim it. No problem.

If you answer him you will soon find out that he will start telling you about difficulties which can only be solved if you pay him some money.

It’s not often that German freemail companies get misused for 419 scam types of e-mails. The Africans don’t usually speak the language and as such they don’t find their way around the sites.

Non the less, this one is obviously doing the 419 scam and is quoting an African, Okeke Frank as the contact man.

Now Frank’s e-mail address is from the French language version of Hotmail. So you can see that they certainly look for alternatives for their e-mail accounts.

If this is really a genuine plead for help, Reverend Clement is going about it the wrong way.

AN APPEAL FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT.

Calvary greetings to you in Jesus name amen. I know this letter might come as a surprise to you but I was inspired to do so as a result of the Orphans and motherless babies under my care.

Initially, I stated this work with few children and I was able to take care of them. It was later many children were brought to me and I was making every effort to meet up with their daily needs.

Based on this, I started sending financial appeal to Individuals, Government, Corporate bodies and Organizations for financial support to enable me continue with this God work and services to humanity.

If not that people some times listen to my cry for financial help, in fact, there is no way I would have continued.

My Father, Mother, Brother, Sister, if you receive this letter and God touches your heart, kindly assist the orphans and motherless.

No amount is too small, we will continue to remember you in prayer and God will not forget your contributions to the orphans and motherless.

Thanks and be blessed as you render services to God and humanity.

Yours in the service of God and humanity
Rev. Clement Chukwuyem

Seeing this is a reminder, I wonder how many people actually respond to this e-mail. I should imagine that some people would actually believe they failed to get previous messages.

ATM Card with 1.5 million US Dollars on it

With this story, they start off by saying you get the cash card if you pay a “reactivation” fee of 135 US Dollars. Now I’ve seen that somewhere before.

Oh yes, it was the 135 US Dollar shipment fee for FEDEX.
